Day 14 of Gratitude – The Three Musketeers.

Tonight I had dinner with dear old friends, Kathy & Lisa. We met each other over twenty-five years ago when the law firm we worked for assigned Kathy to show Lisa and me the ropes. The Three Musketeers, swashbuckling our way through the grinding, male-dominated world of Big Law.

Through marriages, childbirths, and more career changes than we can count, we’ve remained friends. Good friends. The kind of friends who cheer you on as well as offer advice when they think you’re not seeing the world accurately. Friends who can go months or even years not seeing each other, then pick up as if it was just yesterday. Friends with history.

We hadn’t seen each other since last summer, so while most of our banter revolved around our loved ones and our respective jobs, there was a moment, as there always is, in which we paused and expressed how meaningful our friendship is – that we matter in each other’s lives.

And they do matter to me. They are my sounding board for life.
